Game Design Controls Reference Movie Fighting Systems Guard Partner Combo Hyper Combo

Note: All commands apply for when the character is standing on the left side, looking to the right.

You can switch partners during the fight and have your stanby partner enter the fray with a powerful attack. This type of tag-team tradeoff can be done when you're able to call for assistance.

【 Fighting Tip! 】
If you find your life gauge is filled with red, then that's when it would be a good time to switch characters to recover.

You can call your standby character to come in and perform one attack. The character will then leave the screen after the attack is performed.

【 Fighting Tip! 】
When you call in your partner for a Variable Assist, they are still open to being hit. The damage incurred during a Variable Assist is greater than in normal fighting.

While blocking your opponent's attack, you can switch places with your partner, who will then take your place and immediately attack. Your character will flash if you've successfully inputted the command.
∗Requires one bar from your Hyper Combo gauge.

【 Fighting Tip! 】
Don't be too quick to use a Variable Counter since it does use up your valuable Hyper Combo gauge. Don't use this counter when an Advancing Guard would be just as effective.

You can switch characters in the air if you land a hit with your first character. Combine this move with an Aerial Rave to keep pummeling your opponent. This move can be done if you're able to call for assistance and you have at least one bar filled in your Hyper Combo gauge.
∗This move will use one bar of your Hyper Combo gauge.

【 Fighting Tip! 】
Time your Air Raid so the tagged in partner can land their attack.

You can team-up with your partner to unleash a double Hyper Combo attack on your opponent. You can deal a significant amount of damage to your opponent depending on the combination of Hyper Combos.
∗This will use three bars of your Hyper Combo gauge.

【 Fighting Tip! 】
Think of the best combination of Hyper Combos when using your characters. Timing is also very important. For example, if it takes a long time for your partner character to unleash their Hyper Combo, then it will free up the character you're playing to do something else.

During a Hyper Combo, input the command for your partner's Hyper Combo, and your partner will not only do their Hyper Combo, but will also trade places with the character you were using.
∗This will use two to four bars of your Hyper Combo Gauge.

【 Fighting Tip! 】
Unlike the Variable Combination, this move allows you to choose the Hyper Combo you want your partner to perform. This can really change the tempo of a fight if you pair the combos well.
